Christie, the Only Republican with the Courage to Speak the Truth
Chris Christie, in his third bid for the White House, has released a new advertisement targeting his Republican rivals for their inability to confront former President Trump. The ad, titled “Unacceptable,” features a clip of Christie from the recent GOP presidential debate, where he criticized his opponents for condoning Trump’s conduct.
In the ad, Christie boldly states, “Folks like these three guys on the stage make it sound like his conduct is acceptable. Let me make it clear. His conduct is unacceptable. He’s unfit.” The campaign ad concludes by highlighting Christie as “the only Republican with the courage to tell the truth and the experience to get it done.”
Super PAC Spends Big to Broadcast the Ad
A super PAC supporting Christie’s campaign plans to spend $3 million to air the ad on television in New Hampshire, the state that holds the first primary. Additionally, they will allocate an extra half a million dollars for digital advertising. The super PAC aims to reset the course of the nomination process and believes New Hampshire’s unique position will allow them to send a message that Christie is the truth teller America deserves.
Christie’s Focus on New Hampshire
Similar to his 2016 campaign, Christie is devoting most of his time and resources to New Hampshire, where independent voters and moderates have significant influence. Although recent polls indicate Trump leads in the state, Christie remains a competitive candidate, trailing just behind Haley. In Iowa, where the caucuses kick off the nominating calendar, Trump also maintains a strong lead with DeSantis in second place. Christie, choosing not to campaign in Iowa, is focusing solely on New Hampshire.
The Christie Campaign Launches Critique of Rivals
Simultaneously with the release of the “Unacceptable” ad, Christie’s campaign launched a critique of DeSantis and Haley for their attacks on each other rather than Trump. The campaign ad emphasizes that Christie is the only candidate actively working to stop Trump. The ad will run in New Hampshire, with the Christie campaign investing six figures in its broadcast.
Note: The campaign and the super PAC are legally prohibited from coordinating their efforts.
