In a bid to secure the majority, Democrat Sen. Chuck Schumer’s Senate Majority PAC has launched The Last Best Place PAC, a secretive organization that has recently started targeting Republican Senate candidate Tim Sheehy in Montana.
Sheehy Claims Ads are a Diversion from Sen. Tester’s Record
In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Tim Sheehy suggested that the attack ads against him are a diversion tactic to shift the focus away from Sen. Jon Tester’s record as he seeks re-election in a predominantly red state. Sheehy emphasized that Tester is a rubber stamp for all of Joe Biden’s policies, and if the campaign is based on the issues, the Democrats will lose to him.
Sheehy expects the Democrats to continue spending millions on advertisements targeting him in the coming months, stating that they are trying to confuse Montana voters and obscure Tester’s true stance on various issues. The Republican candidate expressed his belief that the Democrats will attack his character, family, and businesses with a budget of one million dollars per week, all to distract Montana voters from Jon Tester’s record.
Senate Majority PAC Responds
Senate Majority PAC responded to Sheehy’s remarks in a statement to Fox News Digital. Sarah Guggenheimer, spokesperson for Senate Majority PAC, disagreed with Sheehy’s assertion that the ads are a distraction.
“Tim Sheehy may think it’s a ‘distraction’ for Montanans to learn about his shady ties to China, business dealings in the Caymans, and reliance on government contracts, but voters certainly don’t,” Guggenheimer said. She added that Jon Tester continues to prioritize the needs of hardworking families in Montana throughout his career.
Potential Primary Challenger
Rep. Matt Rosendale, R-Mont., has shown indications of considering a run, but there has been no official announcement regarding a potential primary challenge against Sheehy.
When asked about a potential primary challenger, Sheehy stated that his focus is solely on Jon Tester. He emphasized the need for conservative control of the Senate to bring common sense policies back to Washington, D.C. Sheehy believes that both parties need reform and that there is a need for new leadership in Congress to start getting things done.
Sheehy highlighted that he is in this race because he cares about the future of the country and wants to ensure that the next generation has a better future. He also mentioned his endorsement from Sen. Steven Daines, R-Mont., as a testament to his commitment.
Fox News Digital reached out to the Tester campaign for their response.
