Children and Social Media
Dr. Terry Dubrow, known for his role on the reality show “Botched,” recently opened up about his family’s experience with internet gossip. Despite being in the public eye for over 15 years, Dubrow’s children are used to the online rumors and take them in stride. The plastic surgeon shared that his kids have learned to laugh off the gossip that circulates on social media, as they are not as invested in it as adults.
Dealing with Internet Trolling
Dubrow recounted a recent incident where a photo he and his wife posted on social media garnered negative comments about his appearance. Despite the criticism, Dubrow remains unfazed, stating that he would openly admit if he had undergone plastic surgery. He acknowledged that while some of the trolling can be “vicious,” he doesn’t let it affect his personal life or his role as a husband and father.
The Key to a Long-Lasting Relationship
Dubrow shared some insights into how he and his wife, Heather, have managed to maintain a strong marriage for almost 25 years. One important aspect they focus on is intimacy, which they make a point to schedule and anticipate together. Additionally, they have established rules for handling arguments, such as avoiding discussions when intoxicated or tired. Dubrow emphasized the importance of treating one’s spouse as if they were still dating, showing respect and thoughtfulness in all interactions.
A Health Scare and Advocacy
In August, Dubrow experienced a health scare when he had a mini-stroke. Thanks to his wife’s insistence, he sought medical attention and discovered a small hole in his heart. After a successful procedure, Dubrow made a full recovery. Grateful for the experience, he now advocates for stroke awareness and prevention, using his platform to educate others about the importance of seeking immediate help in case of a stroke.
Despite the challenges of being in the public eye, Dubrow remains focused on his family and sharing his knowledge and experiences to help others. Through it all, he and his wife continue to prioritize their relationship, proving that a strong and lasting marriage is built on communication, respect, and a sense of humor.
