In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Missouri Senator Schmitt emphasized the urgency of addressing border security as the top issue in the aid supplemental. Schmitt called for separate discussions on various issues, highlighting the significant differences between the situations in Israel and Ukraine. He expressed frustration at the lack of informed debate in the decision-making process, urging for a more thorough examination of each issue individually. Schmitt pointed out the concerning reality of an open border and emphasized the need for policy changes and an executive willing to enforce the law.
America’s Border Must be Secured
While acknowledging the importance of aiding allies, Schmitt stressed the need to prioritize the security of America’s border before sending financial assistance abroad. He questioned the lack of attention given to maintaining the integrity of the country’s own borders, pointing out that the sovereignty of other nations’ borders receives more focus. With a record-breaking number of encounters with illegal immigrants reported at the southern border, Schmitt highlighted the urgency of securing the border and criticized President Biden’s lack of action in enforcing the law.
The Democrats and Open Borders
Schmitt accused the Democratic Party of being “the party of open borders” and expressed concern over the potential threats of terrorism that an open border policy could bring. He criticized the Democrats’ lack of seriousness in addressing border security and warned against underestimating the presence of terrorists within the country. Schmitt urged the nation to reflect on the decisions made by the Biden administration, emphasizing the consequences of disregarding border security.
Antisemitism on College Campuses
Schmitt drew attention to the rise of antisemitic rhetoric on college campuses, particularly during the war in Israel. He expressed that while some may be surprised by this development, those who have been paying attention should not be. Schmitt criticized the culture on college campuses, suggesting that they have allowed for the growth of this rhetoric for a long time. He recently condemned the antisemitic protests on college campuses and highlighted the dangers of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) teachings in schools.
Rebuilding Education and Unifying America
In his interview, Schmitt highlighted the importance of reintroducing American ideals into college campuses. He condemned what he called the “indoctrination camps” for cultural Marxism and emphasized the need to fight back against critical race theory and the obsession with race essentialism. Schmitt believes that a revival of the American idea, where every individual’s value and dignity are respected, is the path towards rebuilding the education system and bringing people together.
