Attorney General Takes Action
In a bold move to protect the rights of the community, Attorney General Andrea Campbell has filed a lawsuit against the neo-Nazi group NSC-131. The complaint alleges that the group has engaged in a concerted campaign to target and terrorize people and interfere with their rights.
Attacks on Drag Story Hours and Migrant Shelters
The complaint highlights the group’s repeated targeting of drag story hours across the state between July 2022 and January 2023. Their attempts to shut down these events and attack members of the public have caused significant concern.
Furthermore, prosecutors allege that NSC-131 targeted migrant shelters from October 2022 to October 2023, perpetuating a climate of fear and intimidation.
Leaders of NSC-131 to be Held Accountable
Attorney General Campbell asserts that this lawsuit is the first step in holding the neo-Nazi group and its leaders accountable for their unlawful actions. The community seeks justice for the harm caused by NSC-131.
Response from NSC-131
The Associated Press attempted to reach out to the leaders of NSC-131, but no comments were obtained regarding the lawsuit. Efforts to contact them through various channels were unsuccessful.
NSC-131: A New England-based Neo-Nazi Group
The Anti-Defamation League describes NSC-131 as a New England-based neo-Nazi group that espouses racism, antisemitism, and intolerance. Founded in 2019, the group’s membership consists of neo-Nazis and racist skinheads with previous affiliations to white supremacist organizations.
Previous Incidents and Public Outcry
Earlier this year, the group faced trespassing complaints for displaying “Keep New England White” banners without a permit. However, the charges were dismissed by a judge.
In March 2022, NSC-131 attended the St. Patrick’s Day parade, causing outrage as they held up a banner that read “Keep Boston Irish.” The group’s presence was condemned by the parade’s organizers and Mayor Michelle Wu.
As the lawsuit proceeds, the community eagerly awaits justice and hopes for a resounding message that hate and intolerance will not be tolerated.
