Crude Oil and Gas Prices Surge
U.S. crude oil for March delivery climbed by $1.16 to hit $79.19 per barrel on Friday, while Brent crude for April delivery saw an increase of 61 cents, reaching $83.47 per barrel. Wholesale gasoline prices for March delivery also experienced a rise, going up by 2 cents to $2.34 per gallon. However, March heating fell by 1 cent to $2.81 per gallon. Additionally, March natural gas prices rose by 3 cents to $1.61 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Precious Metals and Currency Updates
Gold for April delivery surged by $9.20, reaching $2,024.10 per ounce. Similarly, silver for March delivery saw a rise of 53 cents to hit $23.48 per ounce, and March copper prices increased by 8 cents to $3.84 per pound.
On the currency front, the dollar strengthened against the Japanese yen, rising to 150.24 yen from 149.96 Japanese yen. The euro also saw an increase, rising to $1.0777 from $1.0769.
