Gronkowski’s Generosity
Former NFL player Rob Gronkowski, in partnership with the United Services Automobile Association (USAA), has participated in giving away two National Auto Body Council Recycled Rides to deserving families. Army Sgt. Robert Trevino will receive a retrofitted 2022 Chevy Silverado, while Petty Officer Kyle Kohlgraf and Alexandria Torres Schroeder will receive a 2019 Chevy Blazer. Gronkowski spoke to Fox News Digital, expressing his gratitude for being involved in the giveaways and his admiration for USAA’s “Recycled Rides” program.
A Meaningful Gesture
Gronkowski expressed his joy in witnessing the reactions of the recipients, stating, “The reactions on their faces are unbelievable. I love to do it.” This is not the first time Gronkowski has participated in the “Recycled Rides” program with USAA, but it is the first time he has done so in conjunction with the Army-Navy game, which holds special significance for him.
Gronkowski’s Appreciation for the Military
Having played for the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough for years, Gronkowski’s appreciation for the military and its veterans has grown. He credits Patriots owner Robert Kraft for fostering this appreciation and emphasizes the importance of hosting the Army-Navy game outside of Boston. Gronkowski praised Kraft’s commitment to supporting and raising awareness for the military, stating, “He loves to give back to them, and I love to give back to them myself.”
A Historic Game
USAA, acknowledging the historical significance of Boston in the American Revolution, unveiled a 374-pound bag of tea sourced from three veteran-owned small businesses. The bag of tea was displayed at the USS Constitution and will be showcased throughout Boston during the Patriot Games and a Fan Fest activation at Gillette Stadium. It will eventually be donated to the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum.
Respect and Camaraderie
While the Army-Navy game is a fierce rivalry on the field, the camaraderie and respect that have been displayed over the game’s 123-year history are what truly matter. Gronkowski, like many spectators, is excited to witness these two branches of the military compete on the same gridiron that he once graced during his career.
