The Lawsuit Unveiled
The Peltz family, led by Nelson Peltz, has taken legal action against wedding planners Nicole Braghin and Arianna Grijalba. The lawsuit revolves around a $159,000 deposit that Nelson made before firing the wedding planners just nine days into their contract.
The Countersuit
In response, Braghin and Grijalba filed a countersuit, arguing that they deserved compensation for their nine days of work and therefore did not return the deposit. They labeled Nelson as the “billionaire bully” in their legal documents.
Wedding Preparations Gone Wrong
The tensions between the two parties began when famed wedding planner Preston Bailey, initially hired by the Peltz family, stepped away from the project six weeks before the wedding. This left the Peltz family in a state of panic.
Plan Design Events (PDE), run by Braghin and Grijalba, was brought in as a replacement just six weeks before the big day. However, after nine days of working together, Nelson decided to fire them, leading to the legal battle that unfolded.
A Nightmare Bride?
Expert commentary in a documentary about the dispute portrays Nicola Peltz, the bride, as demanding and overly focused on the star-studded guest list. The evidence presented includes screenshots of text messages exchanged between Nicola and the wedding planners, highlighting her alleged obsession with the guest list and her desire to know who would be attending the wedding.
Beckhams Kept in the Dark
The documentary reveals that Nicola and her family deliberately kept the wedding planning drama hidden from the Beckhams, particularly Brooklyn’s mother, Victoria Beckham. They wanted to shield her from any mistakes or issues with the guest list.
A Settlement Reached
In September, a settlement was reached between the parties involved. A joint statement from both sides acknowledged the contract dispute and stated that it should be resolved based on the agreed terms. As part of the settlement, Plan Design Events agreed to make a donation to the CARE Ukraine Crisis Fund in the name of Nicola and Brooklyn Peltz Beckham.
Neither Nicola nor Brooklyn has provided a comment regarding the legal dispute.
