Gas Tax Increase and Sales Tax Hike
In a letter addressing Nikki Haley’s record, critics pointed out her troublesome actions that showed a total disdain for the working-class and a willingness to sell out to lobbyist parasites. It was highlighted that Haley pushed for a whopping 60% increase in the state gas tax in South Carolina, despite promising voters she would never do so. Additionally, she voted for an unconscionable 20% increase in the state sales tax, making her an enemy of the working-class and an ally to lobbyist cronies.
Conflict with Trump
Haley, despite serving as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations under President Trump, has often been at odds with him on the campaign trail. During a recent interview on ABC’s “This Week,” she criticized the media’s obsession with Trump, stating that normal people care about their affordability, loss of freedoms, and the size of the government.
Disagreements with Trump’s Policies
While acknowledging that she had a good working relationship with the former president, Haley expressed her disagreements with some of Trump’s policies. She disagreed with his approach to national security, highlighting his focus on trade with China without addressing the deadly fentanyl flow into the country. Additionally, she criticized the mounting debt during his presidency, stating that it burdened future generations.
