The theme is inspired by J.G. Ballard’s 1962 novel “The Garden of Time,” depicting a story of beauty amidst intrusion. The dress code embodies the concept of “fleeting beauty” and references melancholic florals, drawing inspiration from past designer collections.

Additionally, the Metropolitan Museum of Art announced the theme for the Costume Institute’s Spring 2024 Exhibition and Gala, titled “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.” This theme explores ideas of rebirth and renewal, using nature as a metaphor for the transience of fashion.
